OKExChain Grant Hackathon Application Guide: Enter and Share the $50k Prize Pool

OEC(OKExChain) is a set of open-source public chain projects developed by OKEx, which achieved both high performance and decentralization. It introduced Ethereum Virtual Machine and OKEx cross-chain gateway.

From June 6th to July 11th, OEC Grant Global Online Hackathon is open for developers from all over the world! The program encourages and supports early-stage developer projects that build next-generation decentralized protocols and applications on OEC. All participants can submit their projects on DoraHacks’ blockchain developer platform HackerLink.io to win a slice of the $50K grand prize pool!

Who can Apply?

Any project based on ETHEREUM VIRTUAL MACHINE(EVM) and willing to build on OEC in the future can apply! Directions include but not limited to:

DEX, Lending, Defi Integrator, Yield Aggregator, Synthetic asset, Futures, Perpetual Contracts, Insurance, Stable coins, NFT, Anonymous transaction, Cross-chain gateway, Gaming, Social, etc..

How to Apply?

Open https://hackerlink.io/en/, and click on the right corner to log in. If you’re new to Hackerlink, login with your GitHub or email. If you choose email, a verification code will be sent to your email to create your account.

When registering a new account, please fill in your information with your mostly used contacts (such as Whatsapp, and Telegram)

2. Go to Grant-OKExChain or click https://hackerlink.io/en/grant?type=OKExChain and click “Apply Grant”.

3. Choose “OKExChain Grant Round 1” and connect your wallet. Please set your wallet to “OKExChain Mainnet” or “OEC Mainnet”, and prepare little amount of OKT as gas fee. (DoraHacks can offer some OKT for applicants who do not have enough balance. Please contact @hackerlinkofficial on Telegram for help.)

Registration will fail if you skip connecting your wallet or paying gas fee.

4. Fill in the form to offer the information of your project. For URLs, please give only 1 URL in every blank.

5. Click “Confirm” to submit and give gas fee. You will be able to see your submitted project on the Grant page, which means you have completed your application.

6. You can edit any details of your project in “Account-My BUIDLs”.

How is the Prize Pool Distributed?

The $50k prize pool will be divided into 2 portions:

$35k will be allocated proportionally based on the number of votes each team gets from the judge panel;

The other $15k will be allocated based on the popularity of each project (as determined by the community votes);

In addition, each team can get direct donation from the community. When community members vote on the project, they’re making direct donations to the project and become the project’s sponsors.

*Note: As long as your project gets votes, you can share a slice of the prize pool!

How to Gain More Votes?

a. Join the live demo

DoraHacks staff will arrange the schedule with you via the contacts you give for the live demo and official promotion supported by OEC and DoraHack. Before every demo, OEC and DoraHacks will send out reminders in the global developer communities.

Therefore, please give your Whatsapp，Telegram, or other ways to let the staff reach you.

b. Join the hackathon earlier

Apart from live demos arranged regularly, there will be continuous exposure of the projects uploaded throughout the online hackathon, which means the earlier the projects are submitted, the more people can see and vote for them.

And don’t worry if you’d like to update your project after submission, updates are allowed and every updated project will be listed on the top of the wall.

c. Share in your communities

Share your projects to your communities to gain more support, votes or technical advice.
