Flow Grant Online Hackathon Kicks Off

Built by the team behind the hit NFT project CryptoKitties, Flow is a fast, secure and developer-friendly blockchain designed to support the next generation of games, apps and the digital assets that power them.

From March 25, 2021 — June 12, 2021, Flow will kick off the first Flow Grant Online Hackathon + Workshop on Hackerlink.io, DoraHacks’ developer platform. 5,000 USDC is the initial prize pool for the Hackathon to support early enthusiasts, developers and projects in the Flow ecosystem.

In 80 days, with four workshops, three Flow mentors will help you develop a Flow project, and win the chance to gain FLOW tokens.

How to Sign up for the Hackathon?

Whether you’ve been following Flow for a long time or you’re new to Flow, you can sign up if you’re interested in Flow development!

There will be Workshops and mentors from Flow to guide you through the Hackathon. Live demo will also be arranged for promoting your projects among voters and investors!

If you have the following skills, you will get started faster in Flow.

- Familiarity with GO syntax

- Familiarity with JS/TS

- Familiarity with ERC20 and ERC721 standards

Meet people with complementary skills in the Teaming-up group, form a team and fill in the registration form. (Mentors will undercover in the group!)

Workshops: 3 April (session 1), 10 April (session 2), 17 April (session 3), 24 April (session 4)

Four live workshops with mentors from Flow and a chance to win FLOW tokens for completing all the assignments!

Project Submission: 5 April — 12 June

Submit a project based on Flow on the Hackerlink.io Flow Grant section. Apply what you have learned to what you will do!

Live Demo: 20 May — 12 June

Present your project, technical skills and product innovations to the Developer Community & Capital Observation Group in the DORAHACKS live demo to attract more voters and attentions from the investors.

Workshop

Four step-by-step Workshops provided by mentors from Flow will guide you through the skills of project development on Flow, from introductory to advanced level. Beginners friendly, definitely worth waiting for!

Expected Projects

Flow Grant welcomes a variety of Flow and Cadence based project practices! If you are still wondering what to do, consider the following directions:

- NFT asset related

- DeFi and Wallet entry

- Combinable NFT or DeFi

- DAO voting protocol class

Allocation of Grants

Initial prize pool: 5000 USDC

Direct donation from the community: No limit. (In previous events, direct donations from the communities have often exceeded the total prize pool!)

This Hackathon adopts a quadratic voting algorithm to allocate prizes, and the prize pool will be distributed to teams based on the popularity of their uploaded projects, while projects will also receive direct donations from community voters.

In a word, the final project earnings = the prize pool allocation + direct donations from community voters!

4. Transform your knowledge and ideas into projects! Upload them to Hackerlink.io for a share of the 5000 USDC prize pool.
