  • Please vote on PC (better on Chrome). Voting via mobile may fail.

How to get the DORATEST[0] token?

This grant will use the test token DORATEST[0] as a voting credential. There will be a series of locally deployed test networks (Local Testnets) before Dora Factory participates and gets a parallel chain. The test networks use test network native tokens and the tokens per se have no intrinsic value. The test network deployed in this grant is Dora Factory Testnet 0, with a native token of DORATEST [0].

The main goal of this test network is to test the Dora Factory quadratic funding Pallet in a real environment and to support the second round of the Dora Factory Community Grant.

DORATEST[0] is obtained by a 1:1 stake on the DoraID page, as follows

  1. Go to the DoraID page https://dorafactory.github.io/DoraID/ and connect to the Metamask wallet (ethereum network).
  2. Stake the full amount of DORA as collateral. If you stake 100 DORA, you can receive 100 DORATEST[0] airdrop. Please make sure to stake before the end of the grant (December 15th).
  3. After the collateral, please fill in the form with the DORA stake address, DORA stake amount, Polkadot JS wallet address (for receiving DORATEST[0] airdrops and votes) https://forms.gle/ms6YJkpcySnuyKac8

Note: The system will only recognize the [first] wallet address when connecting Polkadot JS wallet. Please ensure that you submit the correct address when you pick up your DORATEST[0] coins.

If provides a wrong Polkadot JS wallet address, airdropped tokens will be either lost or unable to use.

*DORA used for staking will not be consumed! Staked amount can be withdrawn when they expire!

How to receive the Doratest token?

  1. Please register an account with the Polkadot JS wallet [install Chrome or Firefox extension]. Open the wallet webapp address https://polkadot.js.org/ and link to the plugin wallet address.
  2. Click on the icon in the upper left corner to view the network list.

3. Find “Development”, enter the Dora Factory parallel chain test network address wss://dao.tophacker.com in “Custom” and save it.

4. If you have already filled out the test token application form in Step 1, you will see the DORATEST[0] balance received in your wallet, which means you are qualified to vote and can start voting for the supported projects.

*Your wallet address will always appear at the bottom of the account list that comes with [EXENTION] next to your name.

Airdrop Rules

Who can get the airdrop?

Dora Factory will select valid addresses from “the top 10”, “middle 10” and “last 10” among voters in chronological order for airdrop a total of 300 DORA = worth about $6,000!

Valid addresses are required to meet the following conditions:

1. Staked DORA at DoraID and has registered DORATEST[0] Airdrop google form with your Polkadot JS wallet address https://forms.gle/ms6YJkpcySnuyKac8
2. The registered address in the google form matches the Polkadot JS wallet address used for voting.

Addresses that fail to meet the above conditions will be considered invalid addresses and will be skipped for airdrop. The followed valid address will replace the spot. DORA airdrop will be conducted on the Ethernet network. Please also provide a valid Ethernet address in the registration form.

How the airdrop is distributed?

1. The DORA airdrop will be distributed through the Ethernet network to the DORA staking address on DORAID that is corresponding to the registered Polkadot JS wallet address for receiving the test coins.
2. The airdrop will take place within 10 days after the end of grant, and the results will be announced via Dora Factory twitter.

What is Quadratic Funding? How does it work?

Quadratic Voting is a voting scheme introduced and often discussed in the Radical Markets community. It is often considered an innovative improvement of the traditional 1-person-1-vote or 1-dollar-1-vote voting schemes. The simplified formula on how quadratic voting functions is:

Cost to the voter = 1+2+3+…+ number of votes DORA

With such a mechanism, community contributors can vote for their favourite projects and emphasize their preferences through multiple votes. Along with the increased contribution each round, of course.

How would this affect project incentives? Popularity, which is embedded in this mechanism and is comprised of the total number of votes driving the top project with the most allocated prize. Plus, the accumulated DORA will go directly to the respective project after each round.

Frequently Asked Question

0. What if I encounter problems during the voting process?

HackerLink provides voter support in Telegram, join us here.

1. Can I see my voting history?

Voting history is unavailable for voters at the moment. But builders are able to view your address at the end of the hackathon.

However, if you would like to verify the validity of your votes, you are able to view your voting history via block explorer.

2. Can I use bots to mass vote for some project?

Absolutely don’t do this. Botting and other ways of cheating will be detected by our anti-Sybil attack mechanism, which is why a grace period (3–5 days) is being issued for such a purpose. Please keep in mind that botting will NOT grant your supported projects in any stance of superiority nor impact the prize pool distribution in your favour.

3. Can the project with more votes get a bigger share of the prize pool?

According to the Quadratic Funding mechanism, popularity is the basis of the distribution of the prize pool. If a project is supported by more VOTERS (rather than votes), it will receive more prizes by the end.

For e.g, A project with 10 votes from 10 voters will be prized more than a project with 10 votes from fewer voters.

4. Who receives the DORA I paid?

The votes (or we call “donations”) will go directly to the projects.

5. Why can’t I vote?

Invalid voting may occur for multiple reasons, please ensure that you:

  • Own a sufficient amount of DORA in your wallet.
  • Connected to HackerLink: you should be notified with a pop-up page on your wallet that asks for authorization to connect with HackerLink. Once you authorized the action, your account number should appear in the voting interface.

If the problem still can’t be resolved, please contact Voter Support at Telegram via https://t.me/hackerlinkvoter.

Risk Notifications

Please note that the generated smart contracts from HackerLink will arrange and transfer the donated fund, to conduct quadratic funding algorithms, and distribute contribution funds to the projects of which the voting results in favour. The website cannot guarantee the authenticity, legality and validity of the project, though admins will contact the projects to verify the validity with their best effort. Be aware of the risks and vote rationally. Dora Factory, HackerLink or DoraHacks aren’t responsible for any adverse consequences.

If you have any questions, please contact us on Telegram. We would like to hear more from you and let’s keep in touch!
